The
Voice of Nursing:
A Writing for Publication Retreat for Nurses
A dynamic
weekend retreat program taught by Dr.
Kathleen Heinrich for nurses who desire to become published.
The workshop is designed to draw out the unique stories, experiences,
clinical practices and research that form nursings body
of knowledge.
Participants
receive direction, guidance, support and structure throughout.
Let us help you de-mystify the writing and publishing process.
If you understand the process, you can get your ideas into
print! Seven major topics will be discussed: identifying blocks
to writing; developing a slant; selecting a suitable vehicle
for publication; composing query letters; planning a writing
schedule; peer editing & revising; and, submitting a completed
manuscript.
Come prepared
to have your creative impulses encouraged and celebrated.
Leave inspired and with a manuscript in progress. Novice and
experience writers are invited. Let your voice be heard!

Voice
is not a threat to nursing. Quite the contrary, silence is
the threat to care giving. Care giving needs voice...a strong
authentic voice that accurately represents and honors the
experience of illness as well as the experience of those that
care for the sick and vulnerable.

award-winning AJN Book of the Year: From
Silence to Voice: What Nurses Know and Must Communicate to
the Public, written by Bernice Buresh & Suzanne Gordon
